The Victim Locator Kit is lightweight, portable, battery powered and can be operated by a single Rescuer. Multiple Kits can be deployed simultaneously on the same site without interfering with each other. It is a completely stand alone system that gives a single Rescuer the ability to search a collapse. On location of a victim, two-way voice communication is established immediately.
CON-SPACE provides First Responders with a practical and affordable means of early detection, location of, and communication with, victims trapped within a collapsed structure. The Rescue Probe increases the capabilities of CON-SPACE Rescue Equipment Users.
Interchangeable with all CON-SPACE Hardline Communication Systems
Intrinsic Safe Class I,II,III,Div1&2,Groups A,B,C,D,E,F,G -
when used in CSI-1000 or CSI-2000 Systems.
The Rescue Probe is a full duplex TWO-WAY communication device,
giving Rescuers the ability to hear victims as well as talk to them.
The threading on the rear of the Probe accepts standard National
Pipe Thread (NPT)on 1" steel pipe (11.5 threads per inch)
Attaching metal or PVC pipe to the back of the Probe allows rescuers
to push it deeply into a collapse horizontally or vertically, through holes,
cracks, etc. and into voids where victims could be trapped.
When practical the Probe can be lowered
into a void or shaft using the Rope Adapter
The diameter of the Probe body is 1.65" which
allows it to easily pass through a 2" bore hole.
The Probe is of very rugged Stainless Steel construction
with a durable, high molecular weight nylon tip.
All internal components of the Probe are completely watertight - it can be fully immersed in water without damaging internal components.
Uses a sensitive omni directional microphone.
The diameter of the Probe body is 1.65" which allows it to pass easily through a 2" bore hole. Attaching a Steel or PVC pipe to the threaded rear section of the Rescue Probe extends its reach. This allows rescuers to push it deeply into a collapsed structure through holes, cracks, debris etc. and into voids and/or pockets where victims may be trapped.
It is important to understand that the CON-SPACE Rescue Probe is not a replacement for seismic sensing systems or search cameras. The development of the CON-SPACE Rescue Probe took place over a 1 1/2 year period and was done in conjunction with professional Collapse Rescue Personnel. Reports regarding existing search equipment included the following comments:
Site must be shut down to monitor properly
Setup can be difficult, holes must be drilled to access voids
Can't be forced through debris
Equipment is delicate and temperamental
Single dedicated use, high cost.
The CON-SPACE Rescue Probe was designed as a direct response to these concerns
The Rescue Probe accessory consists of a completely watertight and shock resistant speaker and microphone built into a Cylindrical Stainless Steel Housing with a nylon tip.
Like all CON-SPACE accessories, the Rescue Probe is waterproof, Intrinsically Safe Approved and fully compatible with all existing Hardline Communication Kits. CON-SPACE Rescue Communication Kits are currently used by Technical Rescue Teams in over 500 Fire Departments throughout North America, by Industrial Rescue Teams and by Rescue Training organizations.
Equipment is light-weight, portable and extremely rugged. The Hardline Systems are Intrinsically Safe Approved and allow full duplex, hands-free communication between all users for up to 1500 feet.
